Notes for Allergist- Feb 2011 visit

Dairy- (hives when on skin)

Egg- no known reaction

Peanut- (no known consumption)

All Tree Nuts ( no known consumption, cetaphyl has macadamian oil-a bit itchy but lotion always triggers itch)

Sunflower Seeds(three times- one tiny bite resulted in coughing, no wheeze- atarax worked))Has had seeds in the past

Peaches=two times- itchy neg, cough, junky wheeze- atarax worked)

Dog- (hives from saliva, hands are worse in summer, itchy hands at grandmom's, blotchy face at shore)


I notice a mild cough when go in cold air.


Possible Allergies:
Soy (can tolerate earth balance,toffuti sourcream, tofutti cream cheese, and veganaise- but only give small amounts),
other pitted fruit,
mold,
blue dye (hives from gatorade when topical),
cheap make-up (a hive),
mustard (doesn't like),
strawberries sometimes can create a rash/itch on face (when has alot) but other times completely fine

Avoiding:
all fish (although multivitamin with DHA seems okay),
Sesame (tahini)

Questions for Allergist:
Can I use Neb for cough/wheezing or do I use atarax?
When doing bloodwork- can we test a control (similar to histamine in RAST test)?
Honey?
dose of atarax?
how much CALCIUM?


Incidences:

random mild ones:
SIL house- random cough on and off for an hour other girls had mac and cheese - no meds
MIL house- cough for hour oatmeals dinner,- no meds

Aug 11th and 13th:
Two peach incident- cough, junky wheeze, itchy neck, seemed upset

September 17th:
Dirty spoon from dishwasher-sunbutter,creamcheese.- no wheeze, junky breathing. atarax worked

October 10
slight cough when walk into motel- possible mold

October 30
snickers cake- cough( was near her juicebox, started after drinking it)- atarax- heard junky breathe after meds,

November 5
starbucks(steam from milk?)- atarax- heard a junky breath after meds,

December15
cough after bite of sunbutter- no wheeze- atarax worked

December 18
lucyparty -dog, mold, sunbutter-but wasn't out yet- heard slight wheeze when came home- gave atarax

January 2-
had a cold, cough and slight wheeze at johnny's house- could be dog, cold bad the next am and needed neb

January 14
sampan car ride - was doing funny frog sounds then started- no known food around- lasted 10 min- gave atarax

January 15
sunflower seed meal pizza crust- cough no wheeze (gave atarax)

January 18
LF house- cough, faint wheeze, atarax worked- shrimp fried rice, nuts

January 19
11pm-humidifier on- possible mold- coughing then wheeze

Janurary 23
bath-swallowed bunch of water, cough, mild wheeze, went away in 5 min on its own.-mold in toys?

recommended to avoid pitted fruit (cherry, apricot, nectarine, plum, peaches)
blue dye (gatorade gives hives when skin contact)
sunbutter (sunfower seeds) (coughing attack after a bite of sandwich)
dog (saliva gives hives/coughing and wheezing after lucy's party)
mold (after lucy's party, basement issues)
sesame (dr recommend avoiding)
soy (can tolerate earth balance and in waffles)
all fish (although tolerates dha in multivitamin)

Lotions.

One thing that alot of people may not realize is that you have to read every ingredients list on anything that goes in or on Char's body. Surprisingly there are quite a few lotions and soaps that use milk, soy, or tree nut oils in them (almond is very popular). Please read the labels to double check. I will put together a list of the stuff I use once I gather them all.

Earth Balance.

I was happy to see that earth balance makes a soy free formula that uses pea protien instead. I will bake with the regular vegan earth balance but still have not put it directly on her food due to the soy.

Same goes for veganaise. I ate it while I nursed her and she got it indirectly. I still have not given it directly to her because of the soy.

One of these days I will find the courage to food challenge her to some soy.

Rita's Waterice.

Here is a link to Rita's allergy information. Charlotte can have every flavor of water ice except chocolate chocolate chip. And she can NOT have any of the cream ices.
